UMass Lowell Students Share Their Sequin Stories

IMG_5155The students at UMass Lowell wrapped up the semester by participating in a great event focusing on stress relief and good health at the Recreation Center.  Tracy and Justin, along with help from staff and students, really out did themselves!  Below are a few of the 60 stories posted at the Sequin of Kindness booth.

Student Sequin (of kindness) Stories:

~  At the train station I helped a lonely mother down the steps with her baby and carriage.

~  I helped to raise money to find a cure for cancer by being a Relay for Life committee member.

~  I donated money for food for Thanksgiving.

~  I gave up my seat on a bus.

~  I spent time decorating gingerbread men with the elderly.

IMG_5148~  I paid for the car behind me at a toll booth.

~  I reminded my roommate about homework.

 

IMG_5170~  I complimented a stranger.

~  Give everyone you interact with 100% of your attention.

~  Be accepting of everyone you meet.

IMG_5171~  I gave my friend a place to sleep when she was locked out.

~  I listen without judgement.

~  I helped donate clothes to charity.

~  I donated blood.

~  Smile at everyone you meet.  It might make their day.

IMG_5158The students wrote their acts of kindness on Office Depot post-it-notes.  These inspirational post-its are connected to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation–an organization that’s striving to build a Kinder, Braver world by empowering youth.
